Description: The dramatic Lindis Pass links the Mackenzie Basin with Central Otago. The pass lies between the valleys of the Lindis and Ahuriri Rivers. At 971 meters above sea level, the pass follows an old Maori trail first discovered by European surveyor John Turnbull Thomson in 1857.
